Scranton (Defeated Indianapolis, 3-1)
OF Zoilo Almonte: 1-for-3, 2B (7), RBI, K
If you have noticed me typing "2B" next to Almonte's name often recently, good observation. He now has six in his last eight games.
1B/OF Ramon Flores: 0-for-3, RBI, SF
Played first base today. .274/.378/.453. Fielding breakdown: RF: 21 games; CF: 5 games; LF: 3 games; 1B: 1 game.
2B Jose Pirela: 1-for-4, K, 2 SB (4)
.257/.276/.376. Stealing bases is a part of Pirela's game - but he obviously needs to get on base more to exploit it.
IF Corban Joseph: 0-for-3
IF Zelous Wheeler: 1-for-3, RBI, RS, BB
OF Adonis Garcia: 2-for-4, SB (5)
.292/.327/.375
RHP Brian Gordon (W, 2-2): 7 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
RHP Jose Ramirez: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
2014 debut for Ramirez, who was out with an oblique injury. Injuries are not uncommon for the 24-year old, as part of the reason why the Yankees have moved him into the bullpen was due to durability concerns. Ramirez pitched to a 3.67 ERA in 73.2 innings here last year, with a 78/36 K/BB ratio. But all of that is a bit meaningless, as all but one of those games was a start. The chances are pretty good we will see Ramirez in the Bronx this year if he can prove he is healthy.
RHP Matt Daley (S, 4): 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K

Trenton (Defeated New Britain, 6-4, in 12 innings)
1B Kyle Roller: 2-for-4, HR (9), 2 RBI, 2 RS, K
.392/.465/.838 in 74 AB. Has 23 RBI in those 74 AB.
2B Robert Refsnyder: 1-for-5, HR (3), 2 RBI, RS, 2 K
.243/.306/.396 in 111 AB. 7-for-37 slump.
C Gary Sanchez: 1-for-5, RS, 2 K
.269/.350/.452 in 104 AB
CF Mason Williams: 0-for-5, 2 K
.203/.287/.281 in 128 u-g-l-y AB.
OF Ben Gamel: 0-for-5
3B Rob Segedin: 0-for-5, K
.264/.381/.425 in 87 AB
IF Dan Fiorito: 2-for-5, HR (1), 2 RBI, RS
LHP Jeremy Bleich: 6 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, HR
4.46 ERA in 36.1 IP with 26/11 K/BB ratio.
Switch Pat Venditte: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
RHP Branden Pinder: 2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
He was bound to give up a run at some point, right? 16 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 18 K
RHP Jairo Heredia (W, 1-0): 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K
Damn those injuries. Heredia was a legit pitching prospect (if they exist) back in the day. Now? Trying to find a niche as a relief pitcher, it appears.

Tampa (Defeated Lakeland, 4-2)
1B Greg Bird: 1-for-4, RBI, RS
2014 debut for Bird, who had a fantastic (to put it lightly) season in 2013 for Charleston, hitting .288/.428/.511 in 458 AB with 107 walks. One publication this winter even listed Bird as the Yankees' #1 overall prospect - I don't necessarily agree with that, but it is not completely unreasonable. The biggest limitation to his game is the position he plays - he will likely forever be anchored at first base.
3B Eric Jagielo: 2-for-4, 2B (6), HR (7), RBI, RS
Third HR in last 6 games. Third straight game with a double.
C/RF Pete O'Brien: 1-for-4, HR (10), 2 RBI, RS, K
First player to reach double digit HR within the organization this season.
3B Dante Bichette: 1-for-4, 2B (10)
CF Jake Cave: 1-for-4, K
2B Angelo Gumbs: 1-for-2, BB
SS Cito Culver: 0-for-3, K
LHP Eric Wooten: 7 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, HR
2.89 ERA; 37.1 IP, 41 H, 17 R, 12 ER, 1 HR, 7 BB, 26 K. 24-year old is hardly a prospect, but has pitched well since signing last June as a free agent.
-----------------------------------------
Charleston (Lost to Rome, 5-4)
SS Abiatal Avelino: 4-for-4, 2 2B (9), RBI, CS (5)
Up to .311 on the season. SB rate is not where it should be (11-for-16). Last year, he was 28-for-32, but against lesser competition.
SS Tyler Wade: 0-for-4, 3 K
The strikeouts are starting to pile up. Eight in his last four games.
3B Miguel Andujar: 0-for-3, BB, 2 K
Hitting .223 in 103 AB.
OF Michael O'Neill: 1-for-3, 2B (3), K
OF Aaron Judge: 0-for-1, K
Came into the game late for O'Neill.
1B Mike Ford: 2-for-4, HR (4), RBI, 2 RS, K
Hitting .333. Non-drafted FA has shown some hitting ability this season (obviously). You definitely have to take a wait-and-see approach, of course.
2B Gosuke Katoh: 0-for-4, K
Hitting .200. Although he has drawn some walks, he seems to be overmatched at the moment.
C Eduardo de Oleo: 1-for-4, HR (4), RBI, RS, 2 K
Hitting .204 in 49 AB, so the home run rate is his only saving grace. Not much of a prospect regardless.
UTIL John Murphy: 1-for-4, RBI, K
RHP Rookie Davis: 4 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 5 BB, 0 K
Certainly pitched like his first name tonight. 5.01 ERA in 32.1 IP with 36 hits allowed, 16 walks, and 27 strikeouts.
RHP Jaron Long: 4 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
3.33 ERA; 26.1 IP, 32 H, 14 R, 9 ER, 0 HR, 5 BB, 20 K. Having his dad in the organization as the major league hitting coach probably helped his cause in being signed as a non-drafted free agent, but he has also shown that he does have some ability in his arm.
