Scranton (Lost to Charlotte, 11-6. Game 2 of DH was postponed)
2B Robert Refsnyder: 2-for-3, 2B (6), 2 RS, 2 BB, K
.323/.454/.563 in 28 games with 22 walks since joining Scranton. Yeah, I think it may be safe to say that the bat is major league ready.
OF Zoilo Almonte: 3-for-5, 3B (1), 2 RBI, RS, K
.279/.325/.477 in 262 AB. Almonte is not a perfect player by any stretch, but I think he has legit left-handed pop.
UTIL Jose Pirela: 2-for-5, RS
.319/.360/.444 in 342 AB.
May: .346/.400/.462
June: .336/.385/.504
July: .361/.378/.417
He has always been considered "streaky". This is one helluva streak, no?
UTIL Yangveris Solarte: 2-for-5, RBI, 2 RS, K
8-for-13 since demotion.
1B Kyle Roller: 1-for-4, 2B (12), RBI, K
.286/.376/.487 in 199 AB since joining level. I do wonder if the Yankees would try to catch lightning in a bottle if they ever decided to shut down Beltran
OF Taylor Dugas: 2-for-4
16-for-51 since joining level; .298/.399/.417 in 228 AB overall
IF Corban Joseph: 2-for-4
C John Ryan Murphy: 0-for-4, K
All the way down to .205 in 78 AB
UTIL Adonis Garcia: 0-for-3, SF, RBI
Typically an OF, he actually played 3B tonight. .307/.346/.461 in 228 AB
LHP Nik Turley: 3.2 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 2 HR
Since he is essentially back in spring training right now, we'll cut him some slack for a while - perhaps for most of the remainder of the season.
UTIL Pat Venditte: 0.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
Based on this performance alone, he is the best relief prospect ever.
RHP Edgmer Escalona: 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
8.2 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 K since joining organization.
RHP Diego Moreno (L, 1-2): 1 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, HR
Ugly numbers. That's it.
RHP Danny Burawa: 1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 0 K
5.40 ERA; 33.1 IP, 35 H, 20 R, 20 ER, 2 HR, 19 BB, 45 K
What happened to this freakin guy?
------------------------------------
Trenton (Defeated Reading, 6-5)
C/1B Pete O'Brien: 2-for-4, 2B (8), HR (18), RBI, 2 RS
28th HR of the season, as it appears he is once again in one of his "zones". He has 47 XBH in 85 games this season.
OF Ben Gamel: 2-for-5, 2B (24), RBI, K, SB (10)
Finally on a legitimate streak. 14-for-43 in last ten games. His gap power and ability to steal bases (as well as cover CF) can obviously be a valuable asset.
C Gary Sanchez: 1-for-4, RS, K
14-for-38 in last ten games.
3B Rob Segedin: 1-for-3, 2 RS, BB, K
CF Mason Williams: 0-for-3, BB
Hit me over the head with a boulder the next time I say that Williams seems to be finding it.
UTIL Ali Castillo: 1-for-3, 2B (9), RS, K, SB (7)
UTIL Zack Wilson: 2-for-4, 2B (4), 3 RBI
RHP Taylor Garrison: 2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
First career start (87th game). Emergency, obviously.
RHP Jaron Long (W, 1-0): 5.2 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, HR
Double-A debut (third level he has thrown at this season). He has been quite impressive for a non-drafted FA, putting up a 75/11 K/BB ratio over 81 IP this season. Had a 2.08 GO/AO ratio entering the game and recorded 11 GO to 1 AO tonight.
LHP Ty Webb (S, 7): 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
3.66 ERA; 46.2 IP, 42 H, 19 R, 19 ER, 2 HR, 13 BB, 64 K
-----------------------------------------
Tampa (Lost to Clearwater, 3-2. Clearwater is 25-61. Losing to them should count twice)
CF Jake Cave: 2-for-4, HR (3 - I didn't say it was an IMPRESSIVE personal record, right?), RBI, RS
.308/.360/.401 in 357 AB. Not that he needs power to be useful, but I'll keep saying it: Many feel there is power in this kid's bat. It will be fascinating to see if he develops it.
3B Dante Bichette: 1-for-3, RS, BB, K
Hitting streak up to 11. Hitting .279/.367/.410 in 305 AB
OF Aaron Judge: 0-for-4
2-for-18 slide. It was fun while it lasted. He'll be lucky if he develops into Bam Bam Muelens.
1B Greg Bird: 0-for-3, BB
.269/.359/.411 in 197 AB
SS Cito Culver: 0-for-4, K
1B Matt Snyder: 1-for-4, 2B (12), RBI
2B Angelo Gumbs: 0-for-3, 2 K
5-for-37 slide
RHP Luis Severino: 4 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 8 K
1.31 ERA; 20.2 IP, 11 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 6 BB, 28 K.
I will assume he was pulled because of a pitch count. In any case, his season just keeps getting better and better.
RHP Nick Rumbelow (L, 5-1); 1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 0 K
2.70 ERA; 23.1 IP, 19 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 7 BB, 24 K
-------------------------------------------
Charleston (Defeated Greenville, 4-3)
OF Michael O'Neill: 1-for-3, HR (9), RBI, RS, BB, SB (24)
.248/.326/.410 in 307 AB. Continues to show off that surprising ability to steal bases. Maybe there is a glimmer of something here to watch after just being horrendous earlier in the year.
SS Tyler Wade: 2-for-4, RS, 2 K, CS (8)
Third consecutive 2-hit game. After going 11-for-12 stealing bases in his debut, this year he is only 13-for-21. Since he hasn't flashed any power yet (0 career HR), he will probably need to rely on stolen base ability to add some value. Just remember: Teenager doing quite well at this level overall. He did leave this game early; not sure why.
3B Miguel Andujar: 1-for-4, 2B (14), RBI, K
20-for-63 since ASB. He is starting to reward those who had a lot of faith in him entering the season.
2B Gosuke Katoh: 1-for-3, RS, BB, K
21-for-64 since ASB. 11-game hitting streak. Kind of the "forgotten man" from last year's draft with the Jagielo/Judge/Clarkin threesome. Katoh was picked next. 6'2", 180 (listed) second baseman.
OF Dustin Fowler: 0-for-4, K
OF Mark Payton: 1-for-1, RBI
Came in for Wade. Game-winning walk-off single.
C Kale Sumner: 1-for-3, HR (3), RBI, RS, BB, K
Hitting .250/.442/.421 in 27 games with 25 walks.
UTIL John Murphy: 1-for-4, K, SB (15)
.273/.344/.310.
LHP Caleb Smith: 5 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 K
3.36 ERA; 72.1 IP, 59 H, 33 R, 27 ER, 4 HR, 32 BB, 75 K
LHP Jacob Lindgren: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K
4 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 7 K since joining level. I believe he is going to be pushed quickly.
RHP Angel Rincon (W, 2-2); 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
-------------------------------------
Staten Island (Lost to Aberdeen, 9-2)
CF Devyn Bolasky: 2-for-5, 2B (4), K, SB (6)
He has been smoking the ball, which isn't surprising as a college draftee. Pretty much doing exactly what he needs to do.
C Luis Torrens: 2-for-5, K
13-for-36. 8-game hitting streak.
IF Jose Javier: 1-for-2, RS, 3 BB
21-year old out of the Dominican Republic did not have a great year in the GCL in 2013 (.671 OPS)
1B/LF Chris Breen: 1-for-3, 2 BB, K
.286/.371/.442 in 77 AB, but has struck out 22 times.
OF Nathan Mikolas: 0-for-4, 3 K
1B Connor Spencer: 0-for-4, RBI
RHP Jordan Cote: 4 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 5 K
Continues to get slaughtered. 6.42 ERA in 40.2 IP
RHP Tim Giel: 2.2 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
As a non-drafted FA, getting slaughtered is a bit more acceptable. Has allowed 22 hits in 9.2 IP.
RHP Joe Harvey: 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K
