Spin: Unless there is something about his arm injury that makes the Yankees feel his career is in jeopardy, this move doesn't make too much sense overall. It does clear up a 40-man spot, but calling him up from Scranton and instantly putting him on the 60-day DL would have accomplished the same thing. Turley is not a big prospect, but he is relatively young, left-handed, and has a lot of success on his resume. I am quite surprised they would simply give up on him.
