Yankees Minor League Report 4/20/14: Typically Slow Easter Sunday

Only Scranton had a game today.

Scranton (Lost to Lehigh Valley, 9-4)

OF Zoilo Almonte:  1-for-4, 2 RBI, RS, K
.263/.311/.421 in 57 AB.   13 hits in last 39 AB.
2B Jose Pirela:  1-for-4, 2B (3), RS, K
.255/.255/.364 in 55 AB.    0 walks, but also only 4 Ks.    The walk total is not typical - he did walk 57 times in 129 games last season.
UTIL Ronnier Mustelier:  1-for-4
C Francisco Arcia:  1-for-3, BB
1B/3B Russ Canzler:  0-for-4, K
OF Antoan Richardson: 1-for-4, RS

RHP Caleb Cotham (L, 0-1):  4.1 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
5.40 ERA in 11.2 IP with 10/3 K/BB ratio.  Has relied a lot on grounders the past few seasons, but they haven't been showing up as much this year (0.71 GO/AO)
RHP Shane Greene:  1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
Given his long layoff, I assume they are easing him back into a rotation slot.
RHP Robert Coello:  1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
2014 debut.  Pitched for the Angels in 2013, posting a 3.71 ERA in 17 innings with a 23/8 K/BB ratio.    He has bounced all around the minor leagues, starting his career as a catcher before moving to pitcher back in 2007.    He is 29 years old.
