Yankees Minor League Report 8/18/14: Robert Refsnyder Collects Three More Hits; Eric Jagielo Has 4-Hit Day; Ty Hensley's Latest

Scranton (Continues to play spoiler with a win over Pawtucket, 6-5, thanks to a 5-run 9th inning.  Pawtucket leads the IL wild-card race by one game in the loss column)

2B Robert Refsnyder:  3-for-5, 2B (16), RS, K
.307/392/.438 in 238 AB here; .324/.389/.515 in 466 AB overall.
After a decent, but not spectacular, .262/.342/.421 in July, he is now 21-for-65 in August.  Not only should he go into spring training 2015 fighting for a major league job, he should be a FAVORITE to win one.

RHP Edgmer Escalona (S, 4):  1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
The type of disposable arm more likely to be seen added to the 40-man in September than an actual bigger prospect.

Staten Island (Defeated Tri-City, 6-3)

1B Connor Spencer:  2-for-3, RBI, BB, CS (5)
Now hitting .371.  Your typical advanced college hitter crushing short season pitching.  As I have said before, some prospects aren't even able to do that.  We'll see what he does against stiffer competition next year.
