22-year old with promising start to 2013 season went down with an injury and is only now working his way back.   This is Tanaka's future.  (I mean the surgery and rehab - hopefully not the results)

Staten Island (Destroyed Lowell, 11-0)

C Luis Torrens:  3-for-5, 2 2B (4), HR (1), RBI, 3 RS
18-for-44.  There is a reason why he is considered next in line of touted prospects in this chain.   Still only 18, this was his second career professional HR.

Essentially doing exactly what a college hitter should be doing at this level.   Has struck out 9 times in 22 games and has driven in 19 runs.

Renzo!  Martini!   Renzo!   Martini!

10-for-34 (.294/.350/.412).
C/CF Collin Slaybaugh:  0-for-4, RS, 2 BB
First start since 6/20.  Not sure why he was out, if he even was.   He has the weird C/CF combination going, so there is some versatility here, which is always welcome in any organization.
