Yankees Minor League Report 7/16/14: Dante Bichette's Streak Reaches 18; Eric Jagielo Finally Returns; Rafael DePaula Continues to Pitch Well

Tampa (Lost to Palm Beach, 3-2)

3B Dante Bichette:  1-for-4, 2B (23), RS
Hitting streak jumps to 18.    He has seven doubles in 14 July games, and has gone from minor league fodder to someone that will reach Double-A coming off of a good season (provided an 0-for-45 isn't coming, which is always in the back of your mind with Bichette) at the age of 22 in 2015.
3B Eric Jagielo: 1-for-4, RBI, K
.256/.337/.494.  First game since 5/20 (Just finished a 7-game rehab stint in the GCL)
OF Aaron Judge:  2-for-4
So far, he is living up to the advanced hype.
1B Greg Bird:  0-for-4, 3 K
.261/.351/.396 in 222 AB with 61 K
He really hasn't been all that special since returning from injury.

4.30 ERA; 83.2 IP, 84 H, 43 R, 40 ER, 5 HR, 35 BB, 97 K
After a two-start stretch where he gave up 13 runs in just three innings, he now has a five start stretch where he has allowed four runs over 28.1 IP with a 26/7 K/BB ratio.

Hitting .393 (22-for-56) at this level.
2B/3B Ty McFarland:  2-for-4, 2B (11), RBI, RS, K
CF Devyn Bolasky:  1-for-4, 2B (5), 2 RBI, 3 K
Scouting report indicates he is a slap-type hitter who won't strike out and lacks extra base power.   I guess tonight, he didn't read his scouting report.
