Tonight's Draft

Unlike last year, night 1 of the baseball draft won't be all that exciting for the Yankees.

Armed with four out of the first 66 picks in 2013, the Yankees chose Eric Jagielo, Aaron Judge, Ian Clarkin, and Gosuke Katoh.    Taking three position players (including two polished college bats) and an upside prep lefty was a very smart move for the organization.   We obviously won't know the true value from this draft for a while.

This year, they have one pick on the first night, and it isn't until #55.    The Yankees will likely take a best available approach here, and have been linked to several players (Go to riveraveblues.com for some of the profiles on these players).   My gut feeling is another college bat, but never rule out a prep catcher when it comes to the Yankees.
