Yankees Minor League Report 6/22/14: Robert Refsnyder Homers; Gary Sanchez Collects 3 Hits; Miguel Sulbaran Continues to Throw Well; Dustin Fowler Isn't Slowing Down

Scranton (Defeated Pawtucket,5-4)

2B Robert Refsnyder:  2-for-3, HR (1),RBI, 2 RS, BB, K
14-for-44 with five extra-base hits, six walks, and nine strikeouts since promotion.   Overall, he is at .338/.390/.540 in 272 AB.  This has been an incredible season, and we are witnessing a player that is attempting to make the Yankees brass think hard and long about when exactly to promote him.
C Austin Romine:  1-for-3, 2B (8), 2 RBI
.225/.298/.358 in 151 AB.
OF Zoilo Almonte:  1-for-4, RBI
.272/.315/.461 in 206 AB.  Given the lack of a true center fielder at this level right now, it appears they are rotating players.   Today was Almonte's turn.   By the way, he is still having trouble vs. LHP (8-for-56 with one extra base hit)
UTIL Jose Pirela:  0-for-3, RS, BB, SB (10)
Just as I suspected, the Yankees have seemingly decided to give Pirela some reps at first base after they released Canzler.    Now hitting .319/.358/.447 with 10 steals in 14 attempts.
